March 4th, Second Unitarian is hosting a special screening of the documentary My Omaha. The film will start at 6 p.m. Following the screening, attendees will participate in a facilitated discussion focused on trust, belonging, and connection within a shared place.A moving documentary about the widening rift caused by polarizing politics, division, and mistrust within the filmmaker’s hometown of Omaha Nebraska and his own family. My Omaha centers people - their dignity, complexity, and capacity to connect across difference. Rather than offering simple answers, the film invites audiences into the lived experiences of individuals navigating identity, community, and civic life in a changing America.
The event is intended to be welcoming, thoughtful, and accessible to people across perspectives. Not a debate, but a starting point for reflection, listening, and conversation.
The series is supported by Carrot Impact, a social-impact agency working at the intersection of film, community, and systems change.
