20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, from 1954, ranks as one of Walt Disney’s greatest live action films. Starring Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre and James mason as Captain Nemo, the film broke new grounds in movie technology and innovation and became a hugely successful film. The Nautilus, based in the ethos of steampunk, was a major construction and its wonderful set design still looks incredible. The film will be presented with a specially written introduction by Mark Lewis, that will detail Jules Verne’s book, the 1916 version of the film and the fascinating making of this 1954 cult classic.Entrance £5 cash on the evening.
