About this Event
Screenagers is a documentary created and directed by Delaney Ruston, a physician and film director, to describe growing up in a tech saturated world where it is her opinion that balance needs to be drawn between "screen time" and "screen free time." This documentary follows Delaney and her 12 year old daughter who wants a smartphone.
There are multiple reasons for teens to have a smartphone. However, the impact of this digital age has led to a rapid increase in levels of mental health challenges among youth.
There is also a direct link between excessive internet use and human trafficking/sextortion. Our goal is to educate parents, teens, and community members of the dangers that lurk in your childs pocket.
