Intermountain is pleased to offer two free showings of the documentary "Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition" in East Helena and Helena on October 9th and 10th respectively. There is a growing need for positive discussions about screen use among children. While it seems every age group is struggling in some way with "screen time", new research from Seattle Children's Hospital reveals some key positive strategies that have proven helpful for families. Behind the film is Stanford-trained physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston who says, “Having calm, consistent conversations have greatly improved screen balance in my home."
As part of our effort to lend support to families and educators in our community, we are hosting a free light meal, no cost child care by St. Peter's Health (ages 1+) and a short upbeat professional panel after the movie. Please register for limited tickets at http://intermountain.givingfuel.com/screenagers for either location and date, as we anticipate a full venue at both events. Movie content is appropriate for elementary ages and older. Grandparents, aunts and uncles will discover important content for reflection.
