An ideal workshop for beginners; no experience necessary!This workshop approaches screen printing as a medium of artistic expression, concentrating on basic techniques and experimentation. Introductory screen printing techniques will be covered, from image-making, screen and material preparation, to the use of screen printing as a creative outlet, focusing on the low-tech reductive edition printing process. Artists will develop one edition of prints while exploring the ins-and-outs of the rich world of screen printing.

About your instructor:
Dave DiMarchi is a queer multi-disciplinary printmaker and teaching artist working in letterpress, papermaking, silkscreen and book forms. He received his BFA in Printmaking and Books from the University of Delaware and has continued to teach and study across the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania area for the past 15 years. He maintains a small collaborative studio and art space in New Hope, PA working closely with artists to master artmaking techniques and instruction. He is also the owner or 9INHANDPRESS, a pre-press graphic design studio concentrating on unique, hand-built graphics, typography and illustration, and the host of the annual global 9INHANDPRESS International Print Exchange.
