In 2025, the Transatlantic Council turns 75 years young, and we are returning to where it all began in 1950! The 2025 Scouting Leadership Conference (SLC) will be held over the November 14th- 16th Weekend at the Berggasthof Königstuhl in Heidelberg Germany. The Scouting Leadership Conference (SLC) training event for adult and youth leaders is offered by the Transatlantic Council, and is designed to supplement the educational experience of any Scout leader.
After SLC classes are done, join us at the Council Celebration Dinner on Saturday evening. In addition to other awards, the highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Silver Beaver Awards. This is the highest award that a local council can bestow to a volunteer for their service within the council and to the Boy Scouts of America.
SLC 2025 is open to all Scout Leaders, Youth Leaders, Chartered Organizations, and parents within the Transatlantic Council. Adults may register to attend any class regardless of program designation. The classes offered provide skills for first-time leaders to experienced leaders.
This year discussions will range from how to keep the fun in Scouting to all the “need to know” while Scouting in the overseas environment. Courses will be held on Saturday the 15th, with topics focusing on support of Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and other Scouting programs. LEADER INSTRUCTION
Classes in every program area to enhance your Scouting leadership are offered on Saturday. Additional classes may be added as we get closer to the conference.
COUNCIL RECOGNITION DINNER
After the conclusion of the SLC classes, join us for the Council Recognition Dinner, where we will not only salute 75 Years of Overseas Scouting in the Transatlantic Council, but we will also recognize numerous volunteers for their service to Scouting, including the presentation of the Silver Beaver Award- the highest recognition a council can bestow upon a volunteer.

We are always looking to broaden our course session selections. Do you have a course or program you'd like to teach at SLC? Contact Event Chair Mike Garst and let him know of your interest.
FAMILIES
While you are attending SLC, please consider bringing the rest of the family to explore the environs of the Heidelberg area. Take time to enjoy and see the sights of what the area has to offer. Weather permitting, take advantage of TAC’s Heidelberg Historical trail.
TRADING POST PRE-ORDERS
As an offer to conference attendees, you can pre-order from the Program Supply Center any personal or unit supply needs and schedule them for pick up at the conference. The mobile trading post will also be on site for the weekend. Advancement items such as belt loops, pins, ranks, merit badges, etc. are only available through pre-order. The window for Pre-Orders closes November 10th.
EVENT FEES
Registrants are able to purchase a combined SLC and Council Recognition Dinner ticket for $125.00. Fees include a light reception on Friday, Saturday lunch and snacks, a full day of SLC training, and the recognition dinner.
Additional tickets for the Council Recognition Dinner can be purchased for $55 per person. Youth tickets (ages 12 and under) are $35 per person.
For our friends who are too far away to attend, but still wish to participate in the event, there is a planned live feed of classes and the Council Recognition Dinner. Tickets for this are $30.00.
Commissioners who are attending Friday’s College of Commissioner Science (CCS) will register separately on a different site.
LODGING
Transatlantic Council has booked the entire Königstuhl for the SLC, but with an available 62 rooms so it could fill up quickly. Individual guests may contact the hotel by sending an email to [email protected] or call +49 6221 4160300 to facilitate booking their own room. Reference "Transatlantic" to get the room rates. The prices are:
139,00 € for a single bed
159,00 € for a double bed
Breakfast is available for 17,00 € per person. Indicate how many people will want breakfast when making your reservation.
There are also numerous other hotels in the vicinity that may offer rates and accommodation to fit your needs.
