Scouting for Food is a Scouting America service project where Scouts collect non-perishable food items for local food banks and food pantries to help feed families in need. Begun by the Greater Saint Louis Area Council in 1985, it continues the Scouting tradition of community service and is organized at the local council level across the country. This is one more way that Scouting helps youth build character, develop leadership and citizenship skills, and improve personal fitness.Scouting America Illowa Council and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are teaming up with River Bend Food Bank for this year’s service project.
Sticky notes can be provided to all units that want to participate.
Scouts will put the sticky notes on the doors of the homes in their selected coverage areas on November 8, 2025, and return to pick up the food on November 15, 2025.
