The Boy Scout Fly-fishing Merit Badge Workshop provides comprehensive instruction that allows scouts 14 years of age and older to complete all of the Fly-fishing Merit Badge requirements. Here are a few things to know:
Registration for these events will open 60 days prior to the start date
Only the Scouts are required to register for fishing and fly-fishing programs. Adults do not need to sign up, but we encourage them to remain on site with their Scouts.
There is no license requirement. However, anyone (Scouts) without a license must enroll with the WRC @ North Carolina Hunt / Fish Licenses | Go Outdoors. A WRC number will be issued and can be used to register for all events with the WRC
The Fly-fishing Event is a two-day event to complete all requirements for the Merit Badge. Scouts will have the opportunity to fish for trout from our ponds during this event.
Camping on-site is available for the Merit Badge programs.
There is no cost associated with these programs and all necessary equipment will be provided.
