Come along for be a day of free film workshops, industry-led panels, screenings and awards ceremony.
Brief description: Are you interested in film? Want to learn more about filmmaking from industry experts and get some hands-on experience in our fun, interactive workshops? Thinking of a career in film and TV?
Then join us at The Scottish Youth Film Festival at Armadale Academy, West Lothian on the 5th October from 9:30am – 5:00pm!
No matter what your level of experience, there’s something for you:
· Never considered getting into filmmaking but feeling curious?
Try out something new at one of our workshops. You don’t need any prior experience. There’s sessions on everything from screenwriting to sound design, to acting… and more!
· Have some filmmaking experience already?
Expand your knowledge at our workshops, meet likeminded young people and learn new skills to broaden your filmmaking knowledge… or just try out something new in a fun, friendly environment.
· Taking steps towards a career in film and TV?
We’ll have panels with industry experts and will have representatives from various industry organisations and educational institutions available to chat in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Some of our panellists are also available for 1-1 sessions (sign-up on the day)- so if you have any specific questions or would just like some general career advice, they’ll be available to talk.
Ticketing info: Everything at the event is FREE to attend. Tickets for many of our workshops are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. We anticipate these being popular, so if there’s a particular workshop you’re interested in make sure you get your ticket quickly! There may be walk-in availability on the day, but this will be limited, so we strongly encourage booking in advance to secure your spot. On-the-day registration opens at 9:30am.
Food & drinks: Lunches are provided free of charge. We encourage attendees to bring a refillable water bottle so we can be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Accessibility:
· There will be a designated quiet space for those who wish to use it.
· The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has level access.
· The awards show will be BSL interpreted, and all films are captioned.
