About this Event
The University of Aberdeen Archaeology Society are proud to be hosting the annual Scottish Student Archaeology Society Conference (SSASC) on the 21st & 22nd of February 2026 in Kings College Conference Centre, on the Aberdeen University campus.
This conference brings together the archaeology community from across Scotland to give students and early careers researchers an opportunity to present their researcher, and allows attendees to build relationships across universities and with professional bodies.
Saturday will feature presentations from students and early career researchers, as well as the opportunity to vist a variety of stalls from professional heritage bodies and community groups from across Aberdeenshire. That evening there will be a ceilidh, with music from the University of Aberdeen Folk & Trad society. On Sunday, Glasgow University Archaeology Society will be presenting a panel discussion, before the University of Edinburgh Archaeology Society hold a charity raffle with some great prizes!
First hosted in Glasgow in 2018, SSASC has grown to include attendees and speakers from across the country in the 8 years since. This will be the second time the conference has been hosted in Aberdeen.
