Scottish Quality Management Discussion Group (SQMDG) May 2025

The SQMDG provides delegates with support and shared learning to achieve and maintain accreditation to ISO 15189 standard. The group is led by a committee, representing a broad range of laboratory disciplines, from areas all across Scotland.

The SQMDG hosts a ‘discussion group’ in May and a ‘conference’ in November each year. The former encourages group discussions around 'hot topics' and current challenges, while the latter hosts presentations from industry experts, in their respective field of practice. Both events promote networking opportunities to share experience, provide support and drive continual improvement.

The May event this year will start with Key note speakers, Pamela Craig who will be presenting on the plans and benefits of a national Quality Management Training programme via TURAS. This will be followed by two ‘Breakout Group Sessions’. These sessions provide an opportunity to discuss and share learning between different boards and disciplines. Whether you are starting out as a new quality or laboratory manager, are just looking for advice with a challange or even just want to share some out of the box solutions you have successully implemented in your area, this is the place to be to drive continual improvement across laboratory practices!
