This tour will explore Scottish identity, colonialism and the representation of Black, Asian and other minoritised people
About this Event

What does it mean to be Scottish? This is a key theme of Kelvingrove’s Scottish Identity in Art gallery, and yet, this is a gallery that doesn’t represent any Black or Asian Scottish people. However, the gallery does represent enslavers, colonisers and the products of colonialism. We’ll discuss what this might mean for Scottish identity. The tour will be led by Miles Greenwood, Curator of the Legacies of Slavery & Empire at Glasgow Museums.

We will meet in the Central Hall of Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum. The tour is accessible by lifts and we will provide seating at regular intervals.
