Welcome to the reboot of the Scottish Creative Network. Join us for our first face-to-face meetup since 2020 at The Social Hub Glasgow. Connect with fellow creatives, share your work, and find new friends. This is your chance to expand your network and be inspired by like-minded individuals. - Anyone who creates, commissions or is involved in the visual creative community
...even if you're not directly involved in creating, but you're looking for a creative to work with for a project, or for your business - come along.
Beginners, students, semi-pro, working professionals with 1 day or 25 years experience.
This is not about gatekeeping to a particular level, it's open to all - whatever stage of your hobby or career you are at.
A bit of history
SCN isn't new - it might be to you - but we've been meeting up regularly since 2009!
Originally, an informal monthly meetup for photographers and those in related fields - we met monthly in Merchant Square for almost 12 years! Over that time, we expanded to Edinburgh for a few years too, and to Dundee and Perth occasionally. A small, core group of photographers still maintain a Facebook Group with over 5,500 members in Scotland's creative community.
Sadly, lockdowns put an end to the long-running meetings, and real life got in the way for a few years - but it's time to reboot the network and get this regular event back in the diary.
The whole idea behind what became SCN is to get out face to face and meet like-minded folk in your field. Find opportunities to connect, collaborate or just talk shop. Let's face it, most creative folk find their friends get bored when they start talking camera/film/design... c'mon, admit it. You know they do! So come along and feel free to talk shop to anyone - you never know who you'll meet.
Share some of your work with us
We will have a looping slideshow running on the evening, and you can submit a few examples of your work - images, showreels, examples of your design projects etc. Check out the FAQ for details on how to submit your content.
Check your ticket confirmation email for the link where you can upload your submissions to Dropbox. Content is only kept for the slideshow and deleted afterwards.
