Three-time Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Scottie Miller returns to The Dunsmore Room for a night of Piano-Poetry. Shakespeare to Kerouac—classic to beat. From romantic, sea faring tales or wild rides through Mexico and New York City, to the truth of the human condition. All seen through the eyes of a pianist/songwriter who’s traveled the world, overcome addiction, and who tirelessly composes music ranging from jazz and classical to blues, rock and Americana.
Responding musically and improvising on the piano to his spoken, (and sung) word, without a prescribed musical form enables what he calls,
“a true freedom of expression outside the confines of typical structure and composition.” Scottie will perform excerpts from his upcoming poetry book, and sing songs from his 20-year catalogue of original music.
