Our experienced SUP Expedition Guide will meet you in Fort William (if you arrive by train) or Mallaig (if you arrive by car) with the majority of all the paddleboarding kit needed for your trip.
The journey is designed to cater for intermediate levels of paddler, building the distance daily. You will need to be comfortable paddling up to 5 hours a day, with breaks.

THE PADDLING
The journey is designed to cater for intermediate level of paddlers, building the distance daily. You will need to be comfortable paddling up to 5 hours a day with breaks.
ACCOMMODATION
We will be using a mixture of campsites and hostels (you may wish to book a B&B in Inverie).
TRANSPORT
There are several ways to get to our meeting points Fort William or Mallaig.
Flying – Glasgow International and train to Fort William / Mallaig.
Train – Glasgow to Fort William. Sprinter train to Mallaig.
Driving – Glasgow to Mallaig 3.5hrs
FOOD
All food will be purchased before the journey. For a true expedition feel we require participants to carry their own equipment and food, all part of the adventure. We will cook evening meals together for the true expedition experience.
YOUR SAFETY
Your safety is paramount, we use a 1:4 ratio. Our trip leaders are highly qualified Expedition and Adventure guides with advanced first aid qualifications. They are experienced operating in wilderness areas. Leashes and buoyancy aids must be worn at all times on the water, unless instructed differently by the guide.
TRIP ITINERARYDAY 1
We will meet at the Morar Hotel in Mallaig at 10:00am, allowing all team members to travel and arrive on time (the meeting point may change). If you are arriving by train, we will arrange a collection in Fort William for 09:00am. Please specify your travel details on the expedition questionnaire provided. After introductions we will have a final brief, kit check, and issue group food, then we have a short journey to the launch site. On the first day, please ensure you have a good breakfast and bring your own packed lunch. We will then set off Loch Morar, and arriving at camp to set up early evening. The evening meal will be provided .
DAY 2
Following breakfast, we set off for a full days paddle and portage into Loch Nevis, making camp by early evening. We will provide breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and evening meal.
DAY 3
Following breakfast, we pack up and head out for long day and more amazing views as we make our way to the village of Inverie. We will provide breakfast, mid-morning snacks, lunch and afternoon snacks. This evening we have a farewell meal at your own cost in Inverie. A great time to chat about our journey and experiences.
DAY 4
We make a short paddle journey after breakfast to the pier in Inverie, where we board the MV Western Isles for an hour cruise back to Mallaig, where we say farewell, and embark on our journey home.
EQUIPMENT
Our trips are fully outfitted and cover the essentials you will require when you are out on your adventure. However, you will know what you are comfortable paddling in, the water will be cold, and the weather can change quickly. Off the water we will be living outside, so warm clothes will be required as this is a coastal/mountain environment. It is essential that your kit is packed in dry bags and remains completely dry. Please ensure that your drybags are connected to your board securely with approximately 1 metre of cord.

While we plan meticulously, traveling in this environment is weather-dependent. We monitor the weather before and during the journey and won't embark if conditions are deemed too challenging. Our extensive local knowledge allows us to adapt the journey, possibly involving travel or adjusting to day or one-night journeys.
We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the journey if necessary. We're enthusiastic about sharing our passion for wild places and paddling.
