About this Event
Hosted by Karen Taylor and Matt Chambers, the founders of the North London Whisky Club and popular Whisky For Everyone website, alongside the team at The Castle, Harrow.
Join us for an evening of great food and superb whisky as we present a three-course dining experience, cooked and served by the team at The Castle pub in Harrow, alongside five Scotch whiskies that we have hand selected. You will be greeted with a welcome dram, followed by a whisky with each course and one afterwards.
We will guide you through each whisky, giving information about how to taste and get the most from what is in your glass plus background about each distillery or brand.
There are two food options for each course, so please email us with your choices once tickets are purchased:
Starter
- Venison carpaccio, ponzu dressing & crispy shallots
- Roasted cauliflower veloute, toasted hazelnut & sage
Main
- Barbary duck breast, pumpkin puree, Pommes Anna & cherry jus
- Wild mushroom & truffle risotto
Dessert
- Warm almond & chocolate cake with whisky custard
- Poached pear, vanilla Chantilly cream & whisky caramel.
The tasting will take place at The Castle, a fabulous Grade II listed pub in Harrow, HA1 that is brimming with Victorian charm. This is just fifteen minutes walk from Harrow-on-the-Hill underground station (Metropolitan Line). Several local bus routes also stop nearby.
The tasting will last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Please feel free to arrive early as they have a great selection of beers and good wine list.
No previous whisky knowledge needed, just enthusiasm and interest.
All guests are asked to Drink Responsibly.
Strictly over 18s only. Please bring ID if you are lucky enough to look close to that age.
