The Science Runway Discovery Day is a half-day mentorship, education, and inspirational program specifically designed for young women and girls with interest in STEM and healthcare careers. The program is designed to provide approximately 100 girls from underserved schools around Chicagoland with the latest insights, ideas, and inspiration to pursue their passion for science and healthcare. The program will highlight the multitude of career options available in healthcare beyond a clinical setting. The program will also feature an organizational profile portion where female leaders at different healthcare organizations will discuss and highlight their specific organization and what they do. The program will feature a speed networking section where young girls will have the opportunity to interact with various female healthcare executives and mentors. Next, the program will feature a panel discussion that focuses on how to pursue a healthcare career. Finally, the program will have a keynote discussion featuring a renowned female healthcare leader who will talk about her journey as well as serve as a source of inspiration for these young women. There will also be ample time for networking, mingling, and mentoring.
