September 12, 2023- NGSS Refresh and Deep Dive into SEPs and CCCs In this interactive workshop, teachers (K-12) will first engage in NGSS refresh activities to reinforce three-dimensional teaching and learning. Then a deep dive into all the Science and Engineering Practices and the Crosscutting Concepts to isolate exactly what students at each grade level should be able to do. Teachers will create walking-around rubrics that can be used in the classroom to assess students' ability to do science while they are engaging in activities.
October 17, 2023- Unpacking Performance Expectations 9-12 -Day 1 Grades 9-12 Teachers will dig deep, unpack a few of the Performance Expectations (standards), and brainstorm ideas for three-dimensional lessons. Also, teachers will learn about the details of planning and working through a three-dimensional NGSS activity.
