Special guest Jorge SoberĂ³n, University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Director of the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum, will use history and science to explain how a tiny cactus-dwelling insect became a global commodity. SoberĂ³n is a senior scientist in biodiversity modeling whose research focuses on documenting and understanding large-scale spatial patterns in the biodiversity of terrestrial species.This free presentation/Q&A is open to the public and will take place in the beer hall area at Free State Brewing Co.
