Science of Scary 2025Saturday, October 25

Some things in nature are simply scary. Coming across a snake in the wild is going to get your heart racing every time!
Spiders, snakes and poisonous plants are just some of the scarier parts of nature that can give us the creeps. Just because something seems scary, however, doesn't mean that it is harmful.
Don't be afraid to join us at the Ambler Arboretum for the Science of Scary 2025, a community event for all ages, in which educational partners come together to teach us that some of our biggest fears — spiders, snakes, bats, bees — might not be so scary after all!
From the Elmwood Park Zoo’s Animal Ambassadors to a walk on the weird side of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture Greenhouse Education and Research Complex, from Sarah Naughton and her menagerie of tarantulas to the essential information about all things with wings from Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, there will be something for every interest!
Please note: Family-friendly Halloween costumes are welcomed!
