Don't miss Malta's favourite Science & Arts Festival as it takes over Triton Fountain on 27–28 Sept. Filled with fun for everyone!
About this Event

Malta’s Science and Arts festival is bringing many entertaining and interactive workshops to Sala San Duminku on 27 Sept from 4-11 pm and 28 Sept from 10 am–11 pm that centre around this year’s festival theme, J.E.D.I. ( ‘Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion’). Sign up for these FREE workshops to imagine how Malta can live without polluting fossil fuels, uncover how science can help you make friends, unravel the mystery of your genes and discover the power of knowledge.

Before you enter the workshops, take a peek at the SHE CAN exhibition (organised by the University of Malta) in the Sala San Duminku Foyer to celebrate our J.E.D.I. theme. Read about the experiences of 26 women in Malta who have made remarkable contributions to the fields of STEM, both locally and abroad. The aim is to shine a light on successful role models, inspire future generations to open their eyes to possible careers in STEM, and challenge cultural norms. True JEDI warriors!

Workshop Descriptions

Imagining a Fossil Fuel Free Malta - Craft and Collage Workshop:  Heat waves, rising sea levels, and climate chaos are on the rise in Malta making it easy to fall into despair. However, collective action is a powerful way to show that we are not alone and solutions for a brighter future exist. In this crafty collage workshop, children and youth will create their vision of a fossil free Malta. (By Friends of the Earth)

Science Without Borders: Understanding science can empower us to navigate our complex world more effectively. Join Esplora to discover the wonders of science and find out its critical role in our everyday lives. In this workshop, you will be able to test your current knowledge of science while having fun, explore resources for further scientific learning, and discuss the significance of scientific literacy. (By Esplora Interactive Science Centre)

Science of Friendship: Explore the magic of friendship and science in this fun, engaging puppet show and group discussion where children learn about teamwork, inclusivity, and the wonders of experimentation with Dr. Lumina and Robo. (By Betapsi)

Ripped Genes Workshop: Following every performance of "Ripped Genes," a workshop will be held in a nearby room at Sala San Duminku where participants can test their newfound genetics knowledge in an interactive game. (By Ringroad Theatre & Dr Emma Clarke)
