January Session: Climate Change: Understanding the Science & Finding HopeWednesday, January 21 | 9:30 am–12:00 pm
This session offers a clear, engaging look at what climate change is, how we know it is happening, and why it matters. Drawing on trusted scientific sources, the presentation explains the difference between natural climate cycles and today’s rapid, human-driven changes. Participants explore evidence from tree rings, ice cores, CO₂ records, and satellite observations, and learn how greenhouse gases warm the planet.
Participants will enjoy a 45-minute presentation, followed by time for questions, discussion, and reflection. Afterward, you’ll have time to explore the Science Centre’s exhibit floor before heading to the Kramer IMAX Theatre for a screening of The Arctic 3D: Our Last Great Wilderness, chosen to complement the session’s theme.
This session is designed to be thought-provoking, engaging, and confidence-building — perfect for anyone interested in science, health, or critical thinking.
