We here at Village Books LOVE the Schooner Zodiac, and couldn't be more pleased to be a part of her 100th birthday celebration!Come celebrate the 100th birthday of the 160-foot tall ship Schooner Zodiac on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 11am - 4pm at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Fairhaven! A free Open House upstairs in the terminal with displays and events throughout the day, complimentary deck tours on the ship and more!
Village Books will be on hand selling books, and authors Todd Warger (Shipyard) and Tom Crestodina (Working Boats) will be joining us throughout the day to tell you all about their books and sign them!
Todd Warger: 11am-1pm
Tom Crestodina: 1pm-3pm
Todd Warger is an Emmy Award nominee for the documentary film The Mountain Runners and a recipient of the Washington State Historical Society's 2008 David Douglas award for the documentary film Shipyard.
Tom Crestodina has been working as a fisherman in Alaska for over 20 years and studied marine engineering at the Seattle Maritime Academy. After his first child was born, he began making cutaway drawings of the vessels he was working on as a way to connect with his child while he was at sea. He now documents the maritime trades in his art, and his work is carried in shops and galleries along the Pacific coast. He lives in Bellingham, WA, with his wife, Ania, and their two children.
