Our Schools of Flamenco Series features students from two schools based in Los Angeles, California: Rina Orellana Flamenco Dance Academy and Vanessa Albalos' Flamenco Heart & Soul. Each school will perform roughly thirty minutes. Both groups will join together to conclude the last ten minutes of the concert. Afterwards, performers and guests can mingle for an informal juerga aka Flamenco jam.This event is accompanied with the live music of flamenco artists Bruno Serrano and Jose Tanaka!

RIna Orellana:
For 20 years, the Rina Orellana Flamenco Dance Academy has been a cornerstone of the South Bay community in Los Angeles. Led by Rina Orellana, her passion and authenticity have earned her a respected place in the local flamenco scene as she cultivates strong, passionate dancers of all levels. Her company dancers today are: Argelia Andrade, Astra Cueto, Erin Landry, Karan Millan, Michele Stockham, Nicole Daddona and Susan Broder. Vanessa Albalos:
Vanessa Albalos has been performing Flamenco in Southern California for over 25 years. Colleagues and aficionados have considered her to be an inspirational figure, a fiery powerhouse performer, as well as an invaluable asset to the Flamenco community. Her years of experience in tablao and theater performances have led to the creation of her own dance academy and company, Flamenco Heart & Soul. Teaching in LA, Orange and Riverside counties with an unquenchable spirit, she drives a strict and loving discipline into her students. Her classes reflect her passion for cultivating a higher standard of artistry, skill, and respect of the art.
