Could your horse be softer to your aids? Sometimes our horses get dull or event brace against the rider's legs or rein aids. Sometimes they get tense and rush, going faster and running away from the pressure instead of responding to it. Wouldn't it be nice if your horse was accepting of the aids, so that you only had to use one, soft, correctly timed "ask" and your horse gave you a soft and buttery response? This clinic focuses on improving the communication between you and your horse to allow for better understanding between you.
Many of the common riding problems we see are easily resolved when we restore softness, balance and suppleness and harmony to your riding so that schooling becomes less of a struggle and more enjoyable for you both.
Does any of this sound familiar?
- horse tense and/or rushing
- coming above/behind the bit
- can't get him to move off your leg
- dropping the shoulder and falling in/out
- resistance to the canter transition
- feeling like progress is slow or not happening at all?
This clinic is open to both English and Western riders and will be general in nature, so don't worry if you're not interested in the classical training method or all the technical jargon on modern dressage; we'll keep it simple and keep it general so everyone can come along, no matter what level you're at or what kind of saddle you ride in :)
Each rider gets 2x 40min private lessons and a group unmounted session.
About your Coach: Jessica has been studying and training the Classical methods for many years. Her teaching is based around straight-forward explanations of the "why" behind that "what" so that you can understand exactly how it works.
Coupled with biomechanics and equine bodywork training, and a finely-tuned eye for tensions and imbalances is both horse and rider, Jessica's coaching focuses on problem solving to create softness, lightness and harmony.
