In this kids' day-programme, your child/ren will get to make their own pottery pieces using a variety of techniques, including:Slab Animal Pencil Cup - using the slab method and adding features to create an animal-styled pencil cup.
Press Mould Bowls - use hand-moulded or cookie cutter shapes to create a textured bowl.
Wheel Adventures - have a fun, messy time spinning clay on the pottery wheel.
Paint a Pot - choose a pre-made pot to paint with underglazes.
We will have four experienced potters facilitating the activities and guiding your child/ren through the creative process. The emphasis will be on fun and creativity!
Included costs:
The price of $80 per child includes the firing and glazing of one finished piece per child, per activity, so 4 pieces in total. If they would like to keep more than one piece per activity, additional creations can be paid for at $5 each at the end of the day.
Please bring:
Please provide morning and afternoon tea, and lunch for your child. We will provide breaks between activities for your child to eat and drink. Your child/ren may want to wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty, as potting is a lot of fun and a little messy!
Drop off and Pick up:
You can drop off your child/ren between 8.45 and 9am. Activities will start at 9am sharp.
You can pick up your child from 3pm-3.15pm. Parents are welcome to stay with their child/ren for the day too.
Collection of finished pieces:
It will take 2 weeks for us to bisque fire the pieces, glaze them with a durable shiny finish, and then high-fire them again to seal them. All creations can be collected after 2 weeks time, within the hours of 9.30am - 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 1pm Saturdays.
