Parents of students K-12 are welcome to join us for a night dedicated to learning about youth substance use prevention!
PLEASE NOTE: A ticket is not required for attendance. However, an RSVP via Enterbrite will allow organizers to get an accurate headcount and plan accordingly. Thank you in advance!
Event highlights include:
- Resource fair feat. local healthcare and youth/family-serving agencies
- Naloxone training with free supplies
- Valuable information of AODA use, including a session on treatment/levels of care
- Free Medic*tion lockboxes
- All attendees are entered into a raffle to win a $100 Amazon giftcard
Event intinerary:
- 5 PM - Refreshments and Resource Fair
- 5:30 PM - Special Guest Speaker, Joe Kiel
- 6:15 PM - Breakout Session 1
- 6:55 PM - Breakout Session 2
- 7:30 PM - Dismissal
ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER:
Joe is a proud native of Wisconsin, a diehard girl dad, and a person in long-term recovery. Having experienced the challenges of addiction and the realities of overdose firsthand, he is dedicated to sharing his journey to inspire and empower others facing similar challenges. Joe is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding addiction and believes in helping people see their story as a superpower. Through his experiences, he aims to show that recovery is not just possible, but a powerful opportunity for growth and transformation.
This event is hosted by the School District of Waukesha in partnership with Elevate, a Wisconsin nonprofit that serves as a resource for individuals and families who are facing challenges with mental health and substance use.
