The Gary McWithey Concert Series is excited to announce that Schola Chicago, an octet of professional singers from some of Chicago's premier choirs from sacred and secular venues, and James Grzadzinski, Organist will perform the premier choral concert of the 2025 season on Sunday, November 9th at 7:00pm. Held at the Brookfield Congregational Church (16350 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, WI), the concert is headlined by the Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, Op. 48 and will feature beloved, profound choral repertoire by Palestrina, Duruflé, Proulx, and Grzadzinski. This evening of choral music will offer audience members an opportunity to engage with music whose themes of hope, light, and eternal life will be presented within an authentic sacred space. "Music offers us an opportunity to convey emotions and sentiments that words alone only begin to express," said Grzadzinski. Grzadzinski noted that musicians with experience in settings such as Cathedrals as well as some major symphony orchestra choruses will present these works with nuanced attention to the musicality and powerful texts of these musical masterpieces.
No ticket purchase is required for this concert. A freewill offering will benefit the Gary McWithey Concert Series and its growth.
