It has been a milestone 130 years of Schnidier shield match play in the District!The first few games played were between two teams that called themselves the Blackberries and the Ragworts.
In 1906 The first winners were Bristol Road and back then the teams were made up of players from the various School Boundaries.
For the past 40 years it has been predominantly played for by Norfolk and Ratapiko with the last game won by Challengers Tarata/Kaimata combined team …only to be re-challenged the following week and won back by Norfolk!!
Sunday 26th January the tournament is once again in action as part of our 150th Jubilee Celebrations.
For this special January event It will be played as 7-aside touch rugby and is open to all districts/mixed teams
So get those teams together and register!
