Schema-Focused Therapy is gaining popularity as an extension of CBT that gives patients a language that allows them to connect past messages and traumas with current patterns of emotion and behavior. Using an emotional schema inventory, therapists and patients can explore those schemas that are most activated and understand how that maladaptive emotional schema developed and how to repair and heal those parts that have been hurt in the past. Schema inventory and analysis will be shared and practiced and case examples will be shared.

Learning Objectives:

- Participants will practice using schema inventory assessment tool.

- Participants will increase understanding of maladaptive emotional schemas.

- Participants will analyze/interpret schema inventory and increase understanding of intervention based on results.

Tree of Hope Counseling, LCSW, PLLC, is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0322.

This course is 4 (four) contact hours.
