Handlers and their canines will learn the basics of tracking, air scenting and more. Canines will learn to track their owners scent first. Then we will increase the difficulty, distance, work on different surfaces/terrains,etc and begin training them to find humans other than their owner/handler. This course is for fun and to build relationships between canines and their owners and to give the canines a fun job that they love doing. All dogs are welcome to participate. This will be done on leash and take place in different outdoor settings with the first several initial training sessions beginning outdoors in the fenced in training yard behind Rogers K-9 in Lorain. So, handlers must be prepared for and capable of walking/hiking, some light climbing around trails, and rocks in and around woods. We can only take up to 6 dogs in this course so that everyone gets a chance to work their dogs separately. The cost is $400 for 8 weeks.
