The brainchild of guest conductor Mr Quek Ling Kiong, ???????? ??????????? is a multidisciplinary concert spotlighting on two of Singapore’s disappearing traditions and crafts – ????? ???? ????? ?????? and ??????? ?????????? through Chinese chamber music.
Discover the intricacies behind these vanishing handicrafts through carefully crafted music movements featuring two new commissions by local composer Liong Kit Yeng and Ding Yi Composer-in-Residence Jon Lin Chua alongside a film projection by Director Eric Wong with research from Cultural Researcher Dr Jesvin Yeo.
Audiences can look forward to the film projection illustrating stories of the vanishing handicrafts with third-generation owner of Eng Tiang Huat Chinese Cultural Shop, Jeffrey Eng, and Albert Tay of the now defunct Tay Guan Heng Joss Stick Manufacturer along with live music performed by Ding Yi musicians.
The concert also celebrates Mr Quek Ling Kiong’s significant contributions towards the company’s artistic development since its pioneering years.
This production is part of “Disappearing…” series, produced by Ding Yi Music Company and presented by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre as part of the SCCC Cultural Extravaganza 2023.

由客卿指挥郭勇德精心构思，《绣艺•留香》是一场横跨多个领域，聚焦传统潮州刺绣和大柱香制作，以华乐室内乐探索这两个在本地逐渐消逝的传统手艺的音乐会。
随鼎艺团一起通过精心谱写呈献的乐章，探索消逝中的华族传统手艺，发掘其中细致的深度。音乐会将呈现两首全新委约作品，分别为本地作曲家梁洁莹和鼎艺团驻团作曲家蔡宗玲创作，搭配导演毅力根据文化研究顾问杨佩华博士的研究制作的影片呈现。
此音乐会也是鼎艺团向郭勇德指挥致敬的方式，感谢他自鼎艺团创团以来，对于乐团在艺术发展的卓越贡献。
以上节目是“消逝中”音乐会系列之一，由鼎艺团制作与新加坡华族文化中心《华彩2023》呈献。
