The Village of Frankfort is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Scary at the Prairie 5K and Spooky Sprints! Grab your running shoes (and your best costume, if you dare) because this spine-tingling event will haunt downtown Frankfort on Saturday, October 19 at 10:30 AM. Join us for a day filled with howls of laughter, fun, and plenty of family-friendly spooktacular spirit!Event Highlights:
• Scenic 5K course that will leave you breathless—mostly from running, but also because you might encounter a scary costume or two!
• 1-mile fun run for kids 10 & under—perfect for tiny ghouls eager to show their speed!
• 100-yard dash for kids 5 & under—ideal for toddlers terrorizing the track!
• Costume contest where the best dressed could win some "fang-tastic" prizes (seriously, they may just bite!)
• Halloween-themed decorations and photo ops that will make your Instagram pop—no filter needed!
• Refreshments and treats, because what's Halloween without candy? (Hint: those are called just a regular old day)
• Ghoulishly good entertainment with face painting, balloon artists, stilt walkers, and a DJ spinning tunes that will raise your spirits!
“Scary at the Prairie is more than just a race; it’s a Halloween celebration for the whole family,” said Mayor Keith Ogle, who we suspect will be in a Boo-tiful getup this year. “We’re excited to see everyone’s wildly creative costumes and enjoy a whimsical day filled with laughter and community spirit.”
