Are you Scared Stitchless to drop your feed dogs to free motion quilt your own quilts? Learn the basics of what you need to know before you begin and practice on your first free motion quilting sample. Teacher Liz Granberg-Jerome brings years of experience quilting on domestic sewing machines and a sit-down midarm quilter. This beginner class will cover topics ranging from needles & threads, marking your quilt, batting choices, working with stencils, free motion fills, grid work, to alternate ways to transfer designs to your quilt tops. Learn to pin your quilt and prepare it for quilting. Then dive in and practice free-motion grid work, quilting loops, curves, and straight lines, all using your home sewing machine.
Class will be held Monday, July 15 with setup at 10am, class begins at 10:00am to 3:30pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center in Baldwin City, KS. Class fee: $45. Click the "Tickets" link to get to the Quilters' Paradise website to enroll and pay online.
