About this Event
Scandinavian Knife Class is great opportunity to create something badass and beautiful by hand through wood and metal working. There will be minimal machine use during this class, it is primarily hand shaping, sanding, and finishing.
CLASS DETAILS:
DAY 1 -- MONDAY 2/3/25 -- 6:00pm-9:00pm: Welcome! We will begin by outlining the process of making the knives. Next you will pick your blades (many types available, from small carving blades, to drop points, to hunting). We will then cut pieces to size, prep, and epoxy the materials for the handle. The first day will be pretty full so its possible we will go a little long (:
DAY 2 -- THURSDAY 2/6/25 -- 6:00pm-9:00pm: We will start shaping the handles. Rough shaping can be done on the bandsaw and with stationary sanders. Finer shaping is done with files and hand sanding. You will then finish sand at high grit. Lastly, we will finish with oil or wax. That's it! You've made a custom knife!
GEAR: All materials, tools, and safety equipment are provided! Optional: Feel free to bring a lucky coin or cool piece of wood or metal and we'll see if we can incorporate it into your knife!
