About the artists:
Eva Jospin (b. 1975, Paris), a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, has been composing her signature sculpted forest and architectural landscapes in various media for the past 15 years. Winner of the Prix de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2015 and resident at the Villa Medici in Rome in 2017, she has presented numerous exhibitions of international importance, notably at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris; the Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara, Italy; the Museum Pfalzgalerie, Kaiserslautern, Germany; the Hayward Gallery, London; the Het Noordbrabants Museum, Den Bosch, the Netherlands; and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, Paris.
Jospin has also unveiled several monumental and immersive installations throughout France as part of specific commissions, including for the Cour Carrée du Louvre, Paris; the Abbey of Montmajour, Arles; the Palais des Papes, Avignon; and the Château de Versailles. She has also been commissioned by Dior to design runway sets for the brand’s Haute Couture 2021–22 and Spring/Summer 2023 shows. Jospin’s permanent works include the installation Folie at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, inaugurated in 2015; La Traversée at Beaupassage, Paris, in 2018; and Le Passage in Nantes in 2019. In 2022, Jospin debuted the permanent installation Microclima in the Max Mara shop at Piazza del Liberty in Milan. Throughout 2023, more than 20 works by Jospin were presented at contemporary art fairs around the world as the Carte Blanche artist of the house Ruinart.
Working across mediums of photography, film, and music, Farah Al Qasimi (b. 1991, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) interrogates the hierarchies of information and emotion inherent in the internet, embracing a multiplicity of screens and printing techniques including large-scale vinyl imagery. Many of her video works feature anthropomorphized narrators, informed by her interest in the complexity of storytelling and value-building in children’s cartoons. Through a highly collaborative practice, she has worked with hand-sewn puppets, falcons, African land snails, exorcists, and, most recently, a Jack Sparrow impersonator. Her work is held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern, London; and the Guggenheim Museum, New York and Abu Dhabi. She has participated in residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, Delfina Foundation in London, and the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas.
