This is a special event and open invitation to the local community and concerned citizens of the surrounding Kapusta Lake area.Shasta Birding Society is hosting this free bird walk on February 7th, which will promptly begin at 8am.
Meet at: End of Latona Rd, Anderson Ca
Trail conditions: Level dirt with large rocks in the back sections of the trail.
Participants will need to sign a waiver, so please arrive early to attend our walk.
SBS Volunteers will guide all guest attendees along the eastside area of the main lake and east section wetlands of the Kapusta Lake Open Space Area. This area is an established Hotspot on eBird® surveyed by Birders since 2006.
We will conduct our survey, record our observations, share as we go what bird species we can observe by sight or sound during our bird walk. When possible, we will set up spotting scopes for viewing bird species when they are cooperative on being seen.
We recommend that you wear appropriate footwear, bring water, and binocular or monocular field optics.
