Last year in June, we found ourselves standing at the intersection of race, gender and police violence following the M**der of George Floyd in Minneapolis which incited the world to act while at the same time Breonna Taylor had also been murdered by the Louisville police and we did not see the same enduring response, coverage or organizing.In 8 days, we organized an action, protest and demonstration to end all forms of violence against Black women, femmes, girls and women-identified folx. You answered the call and was one of over 2,000 people in attendance at our March that began at 56th and Chestnut and ended at Malcolm X Park.
Now, we ask again the Philadelphia community and national movements for Reproductive, Racial and Gender Justice for your support for the #SayHERName March for Justice 2021, Sunday, June 27, 1:00-4:00 PM in West Philly from Saunders Park to Clara Muhammad Square!
The #SayHERName March for Justice is one of the ways we fight for our humanity – to end white supremacy, patriarchal violence – and to build our communities and movements to hold our vision where we are free in our Black bodies, we are healthy and well and where we build an unapologetic Black, queer, feminist present and future.
