Right now, Pittsylvania is under threat. Balico wants to build a massive data center with a polluting gas plant to power it—dumping more toxic emissions into an area already overburdened by industrial pollution. If approved, residents will face rising electric bills and worsening air quality.Last year, Balico tried to force a nearly identical proposal through that included a gas plant almost triple the size of any other gas plant in Virgina, but overwhelming public opposition shut it down. Instead of listening to the community, they’re back—pushing the same harmful project that would ensure more pollution.
On March 18th, the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors will decide the fate of this irresponsible proposal. The community has stopped it before—we know we can do it again, but we need your voice. Show up on March 18th and demand they say NO to Balico’s toxic data center proposal.
