Jeff Coffin is a globally celebrated saxophonist, composer, educator, and is recognized for his breathtakingly singable and enigmatic compositions, his searing improvisations, and his very unusual facial hair. He is a member of the legendary Dave Matthews Band, and you may also know him from his 14 year tenure, and 3 GRAMMY® Awards, with the genre-defying Bela Fleck & the Flecktones. In October 2024, Dave Matthews Band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Jeff will be one of a handful musicians to attain this incredible musical honor! Jeff is also a Yamaha Performing Artist & Clinician, a Boston Sax Shop Ambassador, & a JodyJazz Artist. He teaches improvisation and directs the top combo at the prestigious Vanderbilt University, has written over 10 music books, authored a children’s book, produces, engineers, mixes, draws, and continues to be recognized for his musical passion, his deep commitment to music education, and his tireless dedication to improvisational music. Jeff Coffin’s 2022 GRAMMY® nominated release, Between Dreaming and Joy, was a stunning display of Coffin’s boundless compositional impulse and eclectic sonic arrest, and was released on his own Ear Up Records. A native of Southboro, Massachusetts, Dave Pietro has been on the New York music scene since 1987. His talents as a gifted saxophonist, composer, and educator have made him an in-demand musician who has performed at jazz clubs, jazz festivals, schools and concert halls in more than 30 countries throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. Dave is a member of the Grammy Award-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra and the Grammy nominated groups - the Gil Evans Project and Darcy James Argue's Secret Society. From 1994-2016 he played lead alto saxophone and recorded seven CD’s with the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra. He has also toured, performed, and/or recorded with the bands of Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton, Maynard Ferguson, The Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Michael Leonhart, John Fedchock, Mike Holober, Anita Brown, Pete McGuinness, Jim Widner, Chris Zuar and Arturo O’Farrill. Pietro has performed with many other well known musicians such as Paul Anka, Louis Bellson, Blood Sweat & Tears, David Bowie, Bobby Caldwell, Ray Charles, Rosemary Clooney, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Feinstein, Chaka Khan, Liza Minnelli, James Naughton and John Pizzarelli. He has also studied East Indian music and performed with various groups led by Indian tablist Sandip Burman. Dave has Master of Arts degree in jazz composition from New York University where he is currently the Director of Jazz Studies.
Ty Bailie moved off his family's alfalfa hay farm in Mesa, Washington to Seattle to give the musician thing a try and quickly became the go-to B3 organ and keyboard player in town. Known for being Katy Perry's keyboardist since 2015, Ty's diverse talent and interest in all things music has lead to him performing or recording with a myriad of musical icons including: Steve Cropper, Gladys Knight, Tanya Tucker, Peter Frampton, Wanda Jackson, Kenny Burrell, Dave Mathews, Robbie Robertson, Duff McKeagan, Ellie Goulding, Adam Lambert, Ann Wilson, Ace Frehley, Mike McCready, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Counting Crows, Mudhoney, and with members of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Yes, Tool, Snarky Puppy, Zappa Plays Zappa, the Fastbacks, Presidents of the United States, The Posies, Screaming Trees, and Truly. A founding member of the award-winning progressive jazz group Ego Band USA and indie rock band Dept. of Energy, Ty also directs, produces, and leads his own Hammond organ-based jazz groups around his current home of Nashville.
Hailing from Columbus, Indiana, Brian Allen started playing the bass at age eleven. His playing won him several awards throughout high school, including the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz award. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute. There he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and also won the outstanding student of the year. Brian Allen was most recently on tour with Jonathan Davis of Korn in 2018. He is one of Nashville’s top recording bassists. He was nominated Bass Player of the year by the Academy of Country Music in 2018. Brian has performed a diverse range of live shows as well as recording sessions. His playing spans the musical spectrum from jazz to rock and everything in between.
Drummer Jordan Perlson is one of the most dynamic and catalytic musicians you will hear. Transplanted from NYC to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016, Jordan remains an integral part of a wide international music scene. From cutting edge music innovators like Becca Stevens, Snarky Puppy, Banda Magda, to progressive musicians Adrian Belew, Echolyn, Kaki King, fusion megastar Hiromi, jazz legends Seamus Blake, Gary Burton, David Liebman, folk heroes Alison Brown, Missy Raines, reggae giants Matisyahu, or Trevor Hall, Jordan has become a well known and sought after force in these many musical circles.
