About this Event

Cassandra Kubinski and Sawyer Fredericks play The Linda in support of their release "Burn it Down," the first collaboration between NY Capital Region Billboard charting indie singer-songwriters.

SAWYER FREDERICKS

Americana singer-songwriter, Sawyer Fredericks, hailing from a farm in central New York, began playing local farmers markets, open mics, and iconic New York venues at the age of 13. With his deep, beyond-his-years original lyrics and melodies, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances, Sawyer seemed an unlikely match for reality tv, but he won over audiences to win season 8 of NBC's The Voice.

Fredericks released his major label debut, A Good Storm, with Republic Records, an impressive blend of soulful Folk, blues, and rock, entirely self or co-written. He chose to go independent for Hide Your Ghost (2018). Fully written and produced by Fredericks, HYG sheds the high gloss major label treatment and stays true to his honest stripped-down style.

With premieres in People Magazine, American Songwriter and Billboard, Fredericks released his 4th album, Flowers For You in May 2020. The album was included in No Depression Readers’ 50 Favorite Roots Music Albums of 2020.

Two songs from Flowers For You won top awards from the 18th

annual Independent Music Awards, "Born" in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category and "Amen" the Vox Pop award in the Social Action Song category. “Born” was in rotation on SiriusXM’s Coffee House channel and included in Amazon Music's editorial 'Fresh Folk and Americana' playlist.

In January 2021, Sawyer released his rendition of the iconic “What A Wonderful World” with an accompanying animated video.

Sawyer released The Golden Tree EP in March 2023. The EP features his band and Sav Buist and Katie Larson of The Accidentals and the release was preceded by a video for the title track that includes home footage of Sawyer playing guitar and singing as a child alongside recent scenes captured in NYC. It was directed by Jenny He who Sawyer previously collaborated with on his “Born” video off his 2020 Flowers For You album.

"Cassandra Kubinski is very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late 70's...proves that the genre (singer/songwriter) can still be transcendent."

- Billy Joel

Multi Billboard Heatseekers charting singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski has performed her piano-driven stories of ambition, connection, loss, and love from living rooms to Barclays Center, from NYC to LA to Thailand to Jamaica and beyond. She’s shared stages with the Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Anna Nalick, Dickie Betts, and more.

You’ve heard Cassandra’s songs on TV, from Lifetime to ESPN to ABC, including 13 songs on hit show Dance Moms. She has collaborated on songs with luminaries like the Goo Goo Dolls, Chris Botti, 10,000 Maniacs, DJ Taz Rashid, and even her personal music hero, Billy Joel.

Her songs have helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for important causes, such as “Not So Different” for Autism (performed for the NY Islanders at Barclays Center) and “You Get Me” for pet rescue (performed at Broadway’s iconic 54 Below).

A fierce advocate for women in entertainment, she was the composer and bandleader of Emmy- winning new media TV Show “The Never Settle Show” hosted by Mario Armstrong; served on the board of Women in Music for 8+ years; and serves as the youngest and only female artist on the Caffe Lena board in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Her music video STARDUST(from EP #1MillionHearts) went viral upon release, and now

approaches half a million views on Youtube.
