About this Event
Join us for SAVMA’s Day of Learning!
Members of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) are hosting our second “Day of Learning” fundraiser on Saturday, January 17th at the Long Island University's Lewyt College of Veterinary Medicine.
This exciting opportunity is open to high school students in grades 8-12 , who are aspiring to be veterinary medical professionals! Registration for this event is $25 & non-refundable to save your spot. We do have scholarships available for participants who may face financial insecurity.
Current veterinary students & faculty will guide participants through three stations as they learn about dentistry and oral health in small and large animal species as well as practice their suturing and bandaging skills on teaching models.
The event will conclude with a panel discussion with students both in the DVM and veterinary technician program. The day will be split into morning (8am-12pm) & afternoon (12:30-4:30pm) sessions and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please only register for 1 session, both sessions follow the same schedule. This registration will close on 12pm on Friday, December 26th; registration and payment must be received by this deadline for participants to attend. Our Department of Public Safety will contact you after this deadline to submit a campus waiver.
