The Saving Arizona Blood Drive on Sunday, Jan. 4, is our state’s largest effort to replenish the blood supply following the holidays.
- Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day is the lowest time of the year for blood donations.
- More blood transfusions are required in January than during any other month of the year.
- While donors of all blood types are urgently needed, there is a critical shortage of Type-O, the universal blood type used in emergencies and traumas.
