This concert represents your very last chance to see Quin in action as a high voice - silver fox as Silver Swan, if you will! The time has come (is, in fact, well overdue) for a change. In the short to medium term, Quin will be undergoing medical transition, so that their externals more closely match their deeply nonbinary, Not-And-Never-Was-A-Girl, Equally-Not-And-Never-Was-A-Boy, self.
They will be running this event as a crowdfunder to raise money for a chest reduction procedure. Hit "going" or "interested" as your response to this event, to be kept up to date with the gorgeous rewards you might want to sign up for - concert tickets are just one option. Others will include recordings, open rehearsal experiences, one-off vocal coachings, artworks (also by Quin!), and more.
With enormous thanks to my wonderful colleagues (in aphabetical order) Michael Gissing, Matt Goddard, Amanda Hodder, David Malone, Rachel Meyers, Brett Rutherford, and Katie Yap for volunteering their time to help send me off in appropriately fabulous style.
On the program - the world premiere of Maria Grenfell's Disappearing; an updated version of Quin's Birdsong cycle for Sequenza+violone (yes, Quin will be playing and singing at the same time, and look forward to this with their usual mix of enthusiasm and existential dread), as well as their un/breaking duology for voice and guitar; plus various beloved classical favourites ranging from solemn to silly as.
Come along and help celebrate the end of an era and the start of another really exciting chapter!
