We are pleased to offer a personal tour of the National Building Museum, led by Charles Pfleeger, the spouse of Harpur alumna Shari Lawrence Pfleeger, '70, LHD '00.The museum is an architectural gem located in downtown DC. Built in the 1880s to house government offices, the building has survived unchanged, as a showpiece of late Victorian style. It houses exhibits on our built environment: architecture, construction, and urban planning and design.
This tour will last approximately 1-1/2 hours, and will cover the design and construction of the building itself, as well as highlights of two current exhibits: House and Home (how we build and use our homes) and Visible Vault (treasures from the museum's archives).
