BWorks alumni and caregivers will bike from the St. Charles trailhead to Klondike Park for tent camping — and then bike back the next day!
About this Event

St. Louis BWorks bike program graduates, caregivers and volunteers are invited to participate in this overnight Katy Trail bike-packing adventure. This lengthy bike ride (25 miles each day! woohoo!) and camping event will introduce participants to one of the coolest biking experiences that the state of Missouri has to offer! We hope to create lasting memories and bolster the confidence of everyone involved through this two-day event.

The journey will start at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, October 26, at the trailhead in downtown St. Charles (222 S Riverside Dr, St Charles, MO 63301). This location is also where it will end the following afternoon, by about 4 p.m. Sunday, October 27.

Meals will be provided by BWorks. The group will be following the Katy Trail westward, with a lunch stop along the trail, followed by an outdoor dinner and tent camping overnight Saturday night at Klondike Park near Augusta, Missouri. Following breakfast and packing up Sunday morning, the group will begin biking (with a lunch break) back to the St. Charles trailhead.

This alumni adventure will be capped at 25 student and parent participants, plus a handful of BWorks adults to assist with the trip. Unlike most of our alumni rides, this overnight experience requires that every youth rider be accompanied by a caregiver.

We will have tents and sleeping bags available for those without a tent (shout out to the River City Foundation and its gear library!), and BWorks will take care of transporting all camping equipment.

P.S. Does your child's bicycle need some TLC leading up to the alumni ride? Stop by BWorks (2414 Menard Street in Soulard) in the days leading up to the ride (between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, or between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday). If you stop by at least a week prior to the alumni ride with the bike, our staff and volunteers will be happy to take a look at the bike and help ensure it's trail ready!
