About this Event
Are you concerned by the forest “thinning” across up to 40,000 acres of Jefferson County Open Space, including clearcutting and logging mature and old-growth trees up to 211 years at Alderfer/Three Sisters, Elk Meadow, Meyer Ranch, and Flying J Ranch Parks?
You’re invited to a public forum on Thursday, October 10 @ 6:30 pm at Evergreen Library (5000 County Highway 73) to:
- Find out how Jefferson County avoided public input while planning the logging which contradicts its own “Forest Health” plan.
- Learn about the body of peer-reviewed science showing that JeffCo’s “fuel reduction” logging not only won’t protect communities from wildfire but can exacerbate the spread.
- Join with other concerned locals who want to protect our parks and communities from logging & wildfire by reclaiming participatory democracy in Jefferson County.
