Poseban koncert u Eufrazijani u protekloj je sezoni pružio mađarski orkestar Savaria Baroque Orchestra. Prije 25 godina osnovao ga je flautist-dirigent Pál Németh s ciljem ponovnog otkrivanja i predstavljanja glazbenih rijetkosti 17. i 18. stoljeća, i to na temelju dokumenata i sviranja na originalnim instrumentima. Uspješna suradnja nastavlja se i ove godine uz još spektakularniji koncert. Vizualno atraktivna vokalno-instrumentalna izvedba Oratorija sv. Stjepana obrađuje važan trenutak mađarske povijesti – prihvaćanje kršćanske vjere nakon poganstva i pristupanje zapadnim kršćanskim zemljama. Ovo djelo napisao je poznati talijanski skladatelj A. Caldara prema narudžbi ugarskoga kralja Karla III. početkom 18. stoljeća.
The Hungarian orchestra Savaria Baroque Orchestra performed a very special concert in the previous season of the Concerts in the Euphrasian Basilica. The Orchestra was founded 25 years ago by flutist-conductor Pál Németh with the aim of rediscovering and presenting musical rarities from the 17th and 18th centuries, based on original documents and playing on original instruments. The successful collaboration continues this year with an even more spectacular concert. The visually attractive vocal and instrumental performance of the Oratorio of St. Stephen deals with an important moment in Hungarian history – the adoption of the Christian faith after paganism and the accession to Western Christian countries. This piece was written by the famous Italian composer A. Caldara at the behest of the Hungarian King Charles III at the beginning of the 18th century.
