In the series “Savannah Squares: Patterns for the People,” local artist and art educator Paige Byrne explores the unique patterns in Savannah’s twenty-four historic squares, asking herself for each square “How do the patterns of the squares speak to the people of the past and present?” Using a vivid and uplifting color palette, Byrne creatively represents these patterns, both natural and manmade, encouraging the viewer to interact with each square on a new level.
From May 1st thru July 31st, selections from the series will be on display in the rotunda gallery of Savannah’s historic City Hall (open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm). Join us on Wednesday May 8th at 4:15pm for a special artist talk with Paige Byrne followed by a viewing of the exhibit with the artist (registration required).
