Hopped up on a steady diet of everything, SAVAK is a Brooklyn-based post-punk band formed in 2015 by singers/guitarists/songwriters Sohrab Habibion (Obits, Edsel) and Michael Jaworski (The Cops). Drummer Matt Schulz (Holy Fuck, Enon) has been the other constant member over the course of 5 LPs, an EP, and multiple 7” singles. To round out their recordings and live performances, SAVAK has welcomed a variety of bass players and other musician-friends on horns, strings and keyboards. The group is releasing their 5th LP “Human Error / Human Delight” on April 15th, 2022 via their newly minted label, Peculiar Works Music. SAVAK will be joined by Matt Hunter (New Radiant Storm King, Silver Jews) on bass and Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike, Able Baker Fox) on drums for tour dates supporting the new record.

Multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Dan Friel remains unrivaled at creating ferocious pop songs out of blistering noise. A mainstay of the Brooklyn underground as co-founder of noise-punk band Parts & Labor and the alchemist behind a slew of fuzz-baked solo releases, Friel has played alongside the likes of Lightning Bolt and Black Dice and collaborated with acclaimed string quartet ETHEL. His rock trio Upper Wilds runs Friel’s ebullient spirit through mountainous art-punk, culling a rush of melody that drips with molten distortion. On their third album, Venus, the band naturally moves closer to the sun, expanding in both bombast and precision. Venus synthesizes the experimentation of debut Guitar Module 2017 and the thunder of 2018’s Mars into ten lean cosmic love songs.

Masks are required within the venue at all times. They may be removed if consuming a beverage. We do have masks available at the front desk.
